One of the Best Reincarnation Manhwa: Exploring Themes of Regret and Second Chances

Introduction

Some manhwa characters with reincarnation themes usually choose to live a life different from their previous lives and try something new. In contrast to that, the protagonist of 66,666 Years: Advent of the Dark Mage has the same life goal as his past life. Although thousands of years have passed, Jamie Welton still has the same desire to kill the 12 gods who rule over the world.

Summary of the Plot and Character Information

The story begins when Jamie, who was only 9 years old at the time, wakes up one morning after dreaming about his past, followed by a little flashback about his past. Jamie's father who was a Count realized his son's ability in witchcraft and invited a wizard at that time to teach his son. Unfortunately, when he met Jamie he realized Jamie's ability and potential so he refused to make Jamie his student and only taught him a breathing technique that was ultimately very helpful for Jamie's development.

Jamie is very strict with his subordinates and students in the magic academy. But overall Jamie is a tsundere character. Jamie himself has 3 students, namely Benna, someone who is persistent, obedient, and timid in certain situations, and Lennon is Jamie's only male student at this time. When he first met Jamie, Lennon was an arrogant and cunning child, but his nature changed as the story progressed. The last is Anne, a child who has talent and insight into magic, but not her abilities. Besides students, Jamie also has a friend named Ricky who is kind and competitive.

What is great about this manhwa?

The first few episodes of this manhwa seemed a little fast-paced, from episode 3 it was shown how displeased Jamie was with the gods and even fought with a subordinate of one of the 12 gods. This manhwa has an exciting and interesting storyline especially if you like stories with the action genre. The art of this manhwa is also one that needs to be appreciated for its detail especially when there is a fight scene. The main character of this story has a firm stance and knows what he should or should not do so it is perfect for people who don't like weak character types. If there is anything unfortunate, it is the reason one of the gods wants to work with Jamie. In one of the episodes in season 1, it was mentioned that there was a dispute between the gods that made Dewi Piero seem exiled. Jamie himself did not tell the goddess that he was the reincarnation of Diablo Volpir, a figure hated by the goddesses, but he claimed to be the successor of that person. Strangely after knowing this, the goddess still wants Jamie to help her even though tens of thousands of years ago there was a fierce war between them.

Unfortunately, the number of episodes of this manhwa on the official Webtoon ID platform has only reached episode 100 and is far behind other platforms where this manhwa already has 122 episodes on Naver Webtoon Korea and 115 episodes on Webtoon ENG. But until now there is still no clear reason why Season 3 of the manhwa 66,666 Years: Advent of the Dark Mage has not started yet on the Line Webtoon ID platform.
